On our last day, we had the opportunity to dedicate the two homes we had built to the families that would be living in them. The families had to pay $100 US dollars to have their home built. Won-by-One says that this gives them a feeling of ownership, compared to just being given the home. It was an amazing feeling to be able to literally hand them the keys to the home we built for them.
Our last night of the week was spent in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Our group leaders liked to say that we would be staying at a 1/2 star hotel with a 5 star view. We spent the day climbing Dunn River Falls. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. If you ever go to Jamaica, I would recommend visiting the falls. That night, we sat in a huge circle on the pier and one-by-one told the group what our week had meant to us. It was really awesome to be able to hear how people had been changed and moved in different ways. It was an amazing end to an amazing week.
